About Participatory Photography

Alongside my own practice I also facilitate participatory photography projects. Within these projects I utilise photography as a catalyst in order to encourage self expression and confidence within the participants. The projects also often provide reusable skills and improve social development and can form an ideal platform for self advocacy.

The participatory photography projects are easily accessible, suitable for all levels of experience and ability and can be adapted to suit participant’s needs. Photography is such a versatile and expressive art form and offers fantastic opportunities for inclusion as it is so accessible. Using the ‘real world’ as it’s raw material, photography allows people to create engaging work that is easily relatable regardless of background and previous experience.
