In the summer of 2014 I was fortunate to be granted access to the crew of the RNLB William Blannin assigned to the RNLI station in Buckie, Banffshire.
The RNLI is a charity organisation dedicated to saving lives at sea.
When most people picture the RNLI they see daring rescues in raging seas and horrendous weather conditions. While that is a part of what the RNLI do, I was keen to investigate the essential day to day activities that enable the organisation to provide their service. From equipment maintenance to personnel training, this series explores the behind the scenes goings on at the Buckie lifeboat station.
